Manoj Kumar Udhyog (MKU) Pvt. Ltd, a company from India is interested in investing in the defense industry in Indonesia. This is a follow-up to bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and India.

"This investment is a follow-up to the nine agreements signed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi some time ago," said Aloys Sutarto.

Aloys Sutarto explained that the company produces various protection and surveillance equipment for personnel and platforms (land, sea and air) such as bullet proof jackets, hard armor plates, bullet proof helmets and shields.

MKU's vision is to foster and build a safe and secure environment by enhancing capabilities and reducing risks. Of course, the mission is to provide security and excellence to soldiers in critical situations.

Aloys Sutarto explained, one of Indonesia's advantages regarding the existence of MKU, will have 100 percent 'body armor' products that all components and parts are made in Indonesia and not just the assembly. In addition, the existence of MKU will also absorb a minimum workforce of 400 people.

"In addition to national needs, our products can also be exported abroad, both at the level of ASEAN countries and countries that are members of the OIC. So that it can increase state revenue from the export sector," he explained.

In addition, the development of defense industry equipment is in line with President Jokowi's Nawa Cita concept, which is about National Independence.

The establishment of a defense support industry in Indonesia will also directly improve the quality of facilities and infrastructure for national defense and security personnel.

Meanwhile, MKU is currently working with PT Panorama Graha Teknologi in marketing its products. "Through PT Panorama Graha Teknologi, MKU is also open to working with state-owned enterprises to develop their products and businesses," Sutarto said.
