Wärtsilä-Transas Supplies 20 Ecdis for Ministry of Marine Affairs & Fisheries Supervision Vessels

ECDIS (Electronics Chart Display Information System) made by Wärtsilä - Transas has been selected among other ECDIS manufacturers to install and integrate for 20 (twenty) Supervisory Vessels, belonging to the Directorate General of Marine Resources and Fisheries Monitoring - Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (PSDKP- KKP).


At the Contract Signing ceremony, the Director General of the Directorate General of Marine Resources and Fisheries Monitoring, Mr. Asep Burhanuddin stated "that with ECDIS equipped surveillance vessels, it is hoped that it will assist in the task with the main target of operations to prevent and eradicate Illegal Fishing which is one of the main focuses of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Fisheries, in the future to be even more successful.

In the same event, Director of Supervisory Vessels - DG PSDKP, Ir. Budi Halomoan, M.Sci said "The ECDIS made by Wärtsilä -Transas that will be installed on this supervisory vessel has a 24″ Monitor and will be integrated with the main Sensors: Wind Sensor, AIS transponder that can be operated in Silent Mode/Receive Only, a very specific feature that can support the main task of the Surveillance Vessel to prevent, monitor and capture illegal fishing vessels in Indonesian waters."

Aloys Sutarto also foresees that the ECDIS agentized will be in high demand due to several facts: shipping academies / maritime course providers in Indonesia have been using the Wärtsilä - Transas ECDIS Simulation as well, making it easier & economical for seafarers to obtain a Certificate of Competence, as well as the local support & after sales service from MultiIntegra including our certified engineers. Currently, Wärtsilä-Transas in Indonesia has successfully installed and integrated Shorebased and Simulation Systems for a market share of more than 50% in Indonesia.
